Yesterday, December 11, 2023, we lost Johnny, the dear friend that we were all better for knowing. He filled many different roles for those who knew him. Could have been uncle, brother, best friend, partner, or many others. Johnny was always there for each of us in the best way that he could.
We lost a great one, but what a legacy he left behind for those that knew him.
You are already missed, and the world is not the same.
Thank you for all you did for each one of us.
Godspeed, Johnny Crossdraw.

I've recently heard from folks central to his story, and want to clarify the backstory of his book at little.
I may not have done it well enough in the book. Johnny (or John to many) spoke into a digital voice recorder.
Taking a copy of the recordings, transcribing them, putting them in a cohesive order, I then wrote the story I was told.
No more, no less. Intentionally, I did not try to corroborate any of it.
In essence, I wrote his autobiographical narrative as he told it. We all want to be the hero and victim of our story.
So, if you read the book and think, "this can't be (or isn't) true," well, maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
But, I can say this with certainty: This is the story that Johnny told me.
Was he an angel? A devil? A little bit of both? It is probable that he remembered things differently than others.
The truth is in the ether. To find his version you'll have to read the book.
